The 2019 – 2oth ANNIVERSARY OKIE NOODLING TOURNAMENT will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 14th & 15th.
Welcome to the O’fish’al Okie Noodling Page!!
This is the event created for the documentary Okie Noodling (2001) that started it all. This is a once-a-year chance for noodlers and handfishing enthusiasts to compete and meet-up in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma for the world’s largest noodling contest. The character of this event, much like the original documentary, is steeped in backwoods tradition, yet given modern cultural relevance. The crowd in attendance is a unique concoction of local fishing enthusiasts from around Oklahoma and beyond, curious folks, and media from around the globe. The 2019 Okie Noodling Tournament & Festival is rapidly approaching. This year we will have the 5th Annual OKIE NOODLING EVE FREE concert in the park the Friday night before the tournament. This years “ONE” (Okie Noodling Eve) concert will feature an awesome lineup we are still lining up. Music should kick off around 6:30 pm. Food and non-food vendors will be open by 6pm. The fun continues on Saturday with the 20th Annual Okie Noodling Tournament. Vendors and festivities open at 10am. There will be fun for the whole family to enjoy throughout the day. Back this year is the “Mens Only Wet T-Shirt Contest”, Jet Stream Casino Okie Noodling Queen Contest, Washita Casino Noodle Eating Competition and the infamous Pauls Valley Chamber Watermelon Crawl, Kids Catfish Eating Contest, kids inflatables and live noodling demonstrations. in it;s second year, “OKIE CornHole Tournament” will return. Sign ups for these events will be announced during the day, so be listening for your chance to enter.
Big Fish weigh ins will be throughout the day so listen for the horn to announce a noodlers arrival. Final weigh in deadline is 6PM sharp. Once all fish are weighed and polygraphs are passed, the winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded. Closing out the festival on the OKIE NOODLING Sound Stage is more great entertainment.
We also want to inform all visitors to the festival that it is a Tobacco Free event. Also, please review the FAQ section for what is allowed into the festival.
